Evasive Planned Parenthood employee tries to hide the true nature of the medical emergency
By Cheryl Sullenger
Indianapolis, IN – An ambulance was called to transport a woman in the middle of a second-trimester abortion to the hospital from a Planned Parenthood abortion clinic in Indianapolis, Indiana, on November 2, 2012, after the abortionist refused to continue the procedure. The emergency was classified a Priority E, which reserved for the most severe cases.
This is the seventeenth medical emergency documented by Operation Rescue at Planned Parenthood abortion clinics since January, 2011.
Operation Rescue has obtained the 911 recording and Computer Aided Dispatch transcript of the incident where a female caller is heard evading the dispatcher’s questions about the condition of the woman, who was in her fourteenth week of pregnancy. The dispatcher was forced to ask the Planned Parenthood employee four times what was wrong with the patient.
Dispatcher: Dispatcher: Ma’am, can you be specific? What’s the problem with the patient? Is the patient conscious?
Planned Parenthood Caller: Yes.
Dispatcher: Is the patient breathing okay?
Planned Parenthood Caller: Yes, she’s fine.
Dispatcher: Okay, then what does she need the ambulance for?
The Planned Parenthood employee finally told the dispatcher that a woman was in the middle of an abortion when the abortionist “couldn’t do the procedure.” The patient had been given misoprostol and was suffering from cramping and sharp pains.
Misoprostol, also known as Cytotec, is a drug developed to treat ulcers, which is often used in abortions against the manufacture’s warnings because it has the side effect of inducing uterine contractions.
“The record shows that a Planned Parenthood patient was in active labor and in the middle of a risky second trimester abortion when the abortionist stopped the procedure and called for emergency transport. Because of the evasiveness of the caller, almost anything could have happened to that woman, but one thing is obvious; her life was in danger,” said Troy Newman, President of Operation Rescue and Pro-Life Nation. “This certainly warrants further investigation by the appropriate authorities.”
The rash of abortion emergencies at Planned Parenthood clinics calls into question the safety of the abortion facilities and whether they should continue to receive an estimated nearly half a billion dollars in local, state, and Federal funding annually. It is estimated that tax payer money accounts for nearly half of Planned Parenthood’s annual budget.
“The incidents that we have documented, including the tragic late-term abortion-death of Tonya Reaves last July, are only a fraction of the actual abortion complications, most of which occur in secret,” said Newman. “Planned Parenthood abortion clinics may be located in nice buildings, but the abortionists who work in them are bottom-of-the-barrel hacks that more closely resemble their back alley counterparts than reputable medical professionals. The public deserves better than to flush their hard-earned tax money down the Planned Parenthood rat-hole, especially when that money can be better spent on care that actually helps women in need, instead of hurting them.”
NOTE: Robin H. Ledyard, M.D. is the President of Community Hospital – East in Indianapolis, Indiana. Operation Rescue erroneously listed her as a known abortionist in a web video it posted on its website. After further investigation, Operation Rescue has confirmed that Dr. Ledyard has never performed even one abortion and further confirmed that Dr. Ledyard has throughout her career dedicated her professional practice to family medicine, including women’s wellness issues. Operation Rescue sincerely apologizes to Dr. Ledyard for misinforming the public that she is a known abortionist.

First off 13 wks is not a 2nd trimester and I would think you should check your facts about the number of times EMS has been called. Why do you want to make assumptions was the person who put this out there at Planned Parenthood. Can we feed the hungry in USA first and give them a job.

Linda maybe you should read about the stages of pregnancy. 13 weeks is the 2nd trimester because the first trimester goes through week 12. (and the article says she was in her 14th week) If we stopped killing babies int he womb the need for disposable goods like clothing, diaper, baby food, toys, etc. would increase therefore providing jobs and then more people could afford to feed themselves. Children under 18 are the largest consumer of goods because they are always outgrowing their clothes, their toys and their shoes.
