If She Survived, She May Never Have Children
Shortly before 11 a.m., on February 15, 2023, an employee of Everett Health Center – Planned Parenthood in Everett, Washington, located 25 miles north of Seattle, made a call to 911. The employee stated that following a surgical abortion, a woman in her 20s with a “possible perforation needs going to the hospital.”
The employee stated the young woman needed basic life support (BLS) transport rather than advanced life support (ALS).
A BLS transport ambulance is for non-emergency patients, appropriate for someone discharged to home care or a long-term care facility – not for someone with perforated internal organs. The EMTs that staff a BLS ambulance are not permitted to give injections, administer medications, start an IV, or perform cardiac monitoring. In other words, no advanced procedures of any type are allowed.
When a woman’s uterus is perforated, one or more layers of the uterine wall are torn open with possibly severe blood loss, a drop in blood pressure, and a racing heart rate. Accordingly, a perforated uterus is a life-threatening complication that requires immediate life-saving treatment and surgery to repair or remove the uterus and potentially other organs that were damaged.
It is not known whether the caller was medically untrained and unaware of the type of emergency intervention needed or if she was using a dangerous tactic to downplay the seriousness of the injury.
Pro-life bystanders secured a photo as Planned Parenthood volunteers or employees held umbrellas to hide the fact that a woman was being wheeled out on a gurney and loaded into an ambulance.
According to the Call for Service Detail Report, the woman arrived at the hospital emergency room within 24 minutes of the 911 call. The ambulance reached the abortion facility within seven minutes of the call, she was loaded into the ambulance nine minutes later, and she arrived at the hospital within eight minutes.
“In a dire emergency situation like this, every minute counts,” said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman. “Despite the lack of urgency expressed by this Planned Parenthood killing center, we hope and pray this young lady reached medical professionals in time to save her life. If so, a strong possibility exists that the injuries sustained forced surgeons to perform a hysterectomy on a very young woman, leaving her forever barren.”
“As abortion injuries increase, whether it be the result of chemical abortions or surgical abortions, it is becoming more evident than ever that abortion is not safe – and it is certainly not healthcare. Innocent babies are dying every day, and their mothers are increasingly at risk of life-threatening complications.”
